BTI College board met with the Mwalimu National Sacco Board on Saturday after being appointed Shariah advisors.
Mwalimu National Sacco, the country’s largest with a KES 69 billion balance sheet (December 2024), entering the Islamic finance market has raised hopes for amendments to the Cooperative Societies and SASRA Acts to improve regulation.
The BTI team was led by Chairman Tego Wolasa while MNS was led by Chairman Joel M. Gachari.
BTI College, drawing on its 34 regional experts in various Islamic finance sectors, is a regional hub offering consultancy and online courses.
Some of the Sacco courses include Certified Islamic Sacco Expert (CISE), Introduction to Islamic Sacco, and a Certified Islamic Finance Shariah Expert (CIFSE), among others (bti.ac.ke).
